Finaly finished, my #5 Ukulele- a concert scale length Banjolele featuring recycled Rimu body and neck (skip timber), recycled Oak from an old dresser for the tone ring and trim (thanks Peter), brass fittings from Balsm Banjo works in the USA, Remo Renaissance synthetic head, traditional 'dowel stick' neck to rim assembly, Grover tuners, Worth clear strings and finished with a Tru-oil finish. It plays with a warm sweet ringing tone and looks ultra cool. Stay tuned for a sound demo.

Banjolele's may be the crazy Uncle of the Ukulele family but sound great played clawhammer style.

I'm very excited to finally recieve beautiful brass parts from Balsam Banjo works (USA) for my new Banjolele - great service, Thanks Guys.
I'm using reclaimed 100 year old Rimu wood (from a skip) for the body assembly and using a boatbuilding technique for mast building of eight interlocked parts to form the ring. Rimu neck and synthetic skin head. This will sound awesome!!
