For each event gates open at 6pm with a licenced bar (featuring local Waitoa Social Club beer) and food available. We will also have music, friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere. Movies start at sunset. Bring something to sit on and plenty of warm clothes or blankets. We recommend a picnic blanket, bean bag and sleeping bag for snuggling under the stars during the movie. We are planning a low waste event and will have reusable cups available to rent at the bar (or you can simply bring your own, non-breakable please as no glass is allowed on the green). We will have plastic jugs of free water available and we will happily refill your water bottles. You may also want to consider bringing your own dinner plate if are purchasing food. Recycling and general rubbish bins will be available, you can also help out by taking your rubbish home with you. If its raining for any movie, don't worry we will try again the following night. Sunday start times will be the same. I am excited, when can I arrive? Gates open at 6pm and so does our licence bar. Come early and relax in the sun with good people. A few tables will be available or set up your picnic blanket early. Can I bring my own picnic? However we will have paella, bbq sausages and burgers, lollies, popcorn and more available. You can bring water and soft drinks but no alcohol. Alcoholic drinks will be available from our bar, including a low alcohol and no alcohol option. Help us reduce waste by bringing your own plastic cup, plate and utensils. Hataitai is a great spot, how do I get there? If you are local just stroll along. To main entrance will be at 157 Hataitai Road. If you want to taxi there or just home and don't have a taxi app we recommend Wellington Combined 04 384 4444. Or you can get a bus. The number 2 runs from Karori through the city to Hataitai and onto Kilbirnie, Mirarmar & Seatoun (and reverse) every 20-30mins. Jump off the bus at Hataitai village (outside the Waitoa Social Club) and the Village Green is just 2 mins up Hataitai Road. When does the movie start and will we be warm enough? Each movie starts at sunset and estimated start times are provided above. We will let you know before the movie starts that the bar and food vendors and closing and its time to set yourself up. We recommend warm clothes and blankets so you snuggle under the stars and enjoy the movie. You are also welcome to bring chairs but you will have to sit behind those on blankets and low chairs.
