Applications are open for 2025! We have a great programme this year, featuring works by Strauss, Rachmaninov and our Composer-in-Residence, Luka Venter.

The programme runs from 30 June to 06 July, with concerts in Wellington and Auckland led by Adam Johnson and featuring soprano Madison Horman.

Applications close Tuesday 18 March at 5pm.

This week, we were thrilled to welcome Australian Youth Orchestra double bassist Charlotte Scanlan (pictured on the right), who flew from Australia to take part in an exciting new partnership between AYO and NYO! 🦘🥝

"AYO’s National Music Camp is undoubtedly my favourite time of year," Charlotte reflected, "so I’m super excited to participate in a similar camp over the ditch in Aotearoa New Zealand. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be apart of AYO’s exchange with the NZSO National Youth Orchestra and I’m very excited for an amazing week of music making with my Kiwi colleagues. I’m most looking forward to preparing Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 under the baton of internationally recognised conductor Tianyi Lu."

Through this new partnership, members of the NYO will also take part in AYO National Music Camp in 2025.
