ANNOUNCING OUR 2026 PRODUCTION: "THE FARCE MENAGERIE!" 🎭🐒

Wonderplay is thrilled to announce, for our 2026 production, we are teaming up with the iconic Wellington Zoo Te Nukuao!

For the first time ever, our students will prepare a site-specific, fully immersive production where audience and whānau can wander the zoo and view our young cast living as the zoo's wildlife!

Our young actors will prepare by spending quality time with their animal counterparts in deep character study. We are committed to authenticity, ensuring they learn to inhabit their assigned creatures. Will your child be a playful kea, a regal lion, or perhaps a mischievous meerkat?

But wait, there's more! The great exchange!

Our partnership will culminate in a truly global first. While our students are living the zoo life, the animals and creatures of Wellington Zoo will take to the stage at Lower Hutt Little Theatre for a dramatic retelling of a Hans Christian Andersen classic!

We believe that every creature deserves a time to shine, just like our amazing Wonderplay kids. Tickets for both the Student-Habitat Tour and the Animal Gala will be on sale soon. We expect these to sell out fast!
Casting for both kids and animals should be complete by the end of the week! (Sorry, no kiwis still).

Hi whanau! Wonderplay drama class is free to try this week and, boy oh boy, this term is going to be a doozy!

🎭 Step into Adventure with Wonderplay Drama Classes! 🌟

This term, Wonderplay invites children aged 9-14 to master the thrilling arts of sword-fighting, stage combat, and Shakespearean drama! Whoa!!! Or should I say O!

Our 5-8 year old New Wonders class will be busy being little Shakespeares themselves- learning how to create their own mini plays! Maybe they will have swordfighting too- or aliens- or Trolls-themed mini plays every single week- who knows! It’s a beautiful mystery. Personally I hope for all three!

Our drama classes are the perfect place for your young hero to shine, offering a fun, energetic, and supportive environment. They'll not only learn the basics of stagecraft but also gain confidence and mana. Having fun is the most important thing by to us.
