When I spotted the Venezia Blanket by OGE Knitwear designs I knew it was the obvious choice for its intended recipient. My friend had requested something for her new baby in dark green when I suggested I'd like to knit her something. She had no dea what I intended to make. I found this "Excellent Dark Green by Nikki from Dark Harbour Yarn at Woolington in April this year on her Jetsam 75/25% merino Nylon base. In my opinion it was the perfect combination.
I presented this lace, moss stitch and stockinette blanket to her on her last day of work before parental keave kicked in and it was immediately loved. The lace at the other end was knit separate and grafted on.

So stoked! It had been my desk knitting for months and well worth it for this gorgeous end result.

Polaris Cowl by Asita Krebs made for a dear friends birthday present. She often admired my Morag colourway so I decided she needed something made in it. The north star seemed fitting for the type of lady she is, and I admire her very much. I've seen her wearing it and that is the best reward for the hard work of making something. An extremely knitworthy friend.

My coworkers have started to notice my cup cozy I made for using at work, so I've started making them for my colleagues. The pattern is Main Street by Tin Can knits. They take about an hour or so and use about 20g of yarn so I've been using up ends and scraps. These ones were made in some purple Malabrigo Rios left over from a hat, and Golden Kelp in Port DK by Dark Harbour Yarns left over from a Cowl.

Thinking I might make 1 a week and randomly gift it to someone in the office what do you think?

The Storm Sweater was my number 1 KiwiMAL project for 2026. I made mine out of some possum Merino blend yarn I dyed myself especially for this project. I actually love the colour pooling that happened with the darker parts of the yarn. This oversized sweatshirt-y pullover has become one of my winter staples for cold Wellington days 💜
It's like wearing a warm hug!

My Ponderosa by Wool and Pine Designs in the colourway Hecate by Dragon Hoard Yarns. I love how many shades of purple there are in this yarn and this piece has become a staple to wear to the office. The garment is knit in pieces and sew which gives it some great structure. The original pattern is a boat neck neckline but they're not my favourite, so I modified it to be a round, almost crew style neck. I also really love the fitted sleeves.
I think I'll make another one of these one day with much more positive ease to achieve a different look. I also have enough yarn left for a tee!

Baby set for Morgan's wee bundle 😍
Little brother's Romper by PetiteKnit, Baby Uggs by Autumn Street, and my usual baby hat recipe make up this cute outfit package. The beautiful pale blue green yarn is Knitsch Yarn in Anna's Green 4ply/fingering weight held double and the Grey on the booties is some Ashford Merino in Mist. I added cute little buttons to all the pieces for funsies and to make it even more of a set 💚

I've been a bit slack on posting all the things I've finished so thought I'd better try catch up.
So here is my finished Awen sweater by Meghan Babin in Outlaw Yarn Darkness DK in the colourway A King's Ransom.
This was made for the other half as a snuggly winter sweater and was a challenge to make, but also so rewarding. I found this one to be a little easier to manage than the Saven, but that could be because I've done a few complex cable patterns since I attempted that one a couple of years ago. It was a beautiful pattern to knit, but i did have to make some mods to account for my lower row count than the gauge required.

Claire describes Darkness DK as being "like knitting with marshmallows" on their podcast and I couldn't agree with her more. I'm really looking forward to knitting my purple Dark Sarcasm, and even ordered some more in Infinitely True because they're getting down to the last box of this incredible special edition yarn. Once it's gone, it's gone so if you want to try some, get in quickly!

I wanted to make a cardigan for my mum for her 70th birthday and landed on the Grandpa Cardigan by Joji Locatelli. It was a super quick knit for me - I started on the 9th and finished on the 22nd. I knit this in a custom dyed colourway just for her because her favourite colour is blue on my Hearth DK base to make it extra special. I also sourced some beautiful handmade blue ceramic buttons from Miss Muffet Knits with daisies on them. And best of all it seemed to be a perfect fit! She popped it on when the day cooled down while we were still there and it was so nice to see something I'd made being appreciated and used.
