When I was 17, I auditioned for Matz at the straight out of the Paris Opera Ballet School. He offered me a full-time contract on the spot. Because I had also been offered a short-term contract at the Paris Opera, I asked if I could take some time to make my decision. He gave me his personal phone number and said, “When you’ve made your decision, give me a call and the contract is yours.”
That was the kind of person Matz was. Without him, I would never have had the career I did.

My thoughts are with his wife, Amanda, and his children. Thank you for everything Matz 🤍

Dance North Academy’s Summer Intensive 2026!

We are thrilled to welcome MEDHI ANGOT, former Principal Dancer with The Royal New Zealand Ballet, as a Guest Teacher for our Summer Intensive 2026. Medhi will be teaching alongside our esteemed Dance North Academy faculty, Vicki Attard, Adam Bull, Adam Blanch and Lucinda Dunn OAM.

Dates: 19th - 21st January 2026
Levels: Intermediate (9 - 12 years) + Advanced (13+ years)
Cost: $395.00 per person (non-refundable)

CLASSES
Students will enjoy a diverse range of classes, including classical ballet, pointe, boys coaching, variations, repertoire, and contemporary.

Harriet first came to me almost 3 years ago, and we started slowly working together before she joined my full-time training program in January.
