THE LEVELS RACEWAY TRIPLE THREAT TEAM CHALLENGE –
SATURDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER 2026

Documentation/Scrutineering – 11.30a.m. – 1.00p.m.
Qualifying - 1.45p.m.
Race 1 – 2.20p.m.

HOW IT WILL WORK

Teams of 2 drivers can compete using one or two cars, sharing the driving however you choose subject to compulsory pit stop. 3 x 30 minute races.
QUALIFYING
Sets the grid for Race 1.
RACE 1
A traditional scratch race. Fastest to the front.
RACE 2 REVERSE GRID
The Race 1 finishing order reversed.
RACE 3
Grid determined by combined points from Races 1 & 2 i.e. points accumulated.

90 minutes of racing, changing grids, team strategy, plenty of opportunity for overtaking and absolutely no guarantee that the Race 1 front-runners will still be at the front by Race 3

Be sure to choose your correct team description in the entry list.

• Two driver single car teams - enter on the one entry
• Two car teams – enter on the one entry - simply add second primary driver and vehicle { Vehicle must be linked to your profile}.
• Pre entered SIERDC One Hour Cars - Two driver single car teams - enter again on the one entry (simply add co driver).
• Pre entered SIERDC One Hour Cars - Two car teams - enter again on the one entry - simply add second primary driver and vehicle, {Vehicle must be linked to your profile}.

OFFICIAL RULES
Articles 1 – 9 shall be the rules and procedures of the Triple Threat Team Challenge Thirty Minute Races. Where clarification is required Appendix 4 Schedule Z will be the defining reference.

1. ELIGIBILITY, VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES:
1.1 The races are open to any eligible saloon type car. Electric vehicles are expressly prohibited. Entry in the SIERDC One Hour races is not a prerequisite.
1.2 Entries must form a “team”.
1.3 Vehicles must be fitted with a Full MSNZ Homologated Safety (Roll) Cage.
1.4 Vehicles must meet the Safety requirements of Appendix 2 Schedule A or, for pre 1978 Schedule K, T&C or CR compliance with Appendix 6 Schedule AA.
1.5 2K Cup South Island cars and drivers will be required to meet national race class safety requirements.
1.6 Classes: Will consist of Class 3, 4 and 5. As detailed in article 1∙2∙3 of the 2026 1 Hour Endurance: NIERDC, SIERDC, New Zealand Championship articles.
These are
Class 5 – Up to 2050cc.
Class 4 – 2051cc to 3500cc.
Class 3 – 3501cc.
All figures include equivalence factor applied.
Petrol forced induction x1.7, Rotary engine x1.8 and Diesel forced induction x1.5
2. ENTRY FEES:
2.1 $325.00 per team inc GST. SIERDC 1 hour entries previously entered for 19 September 2026 $175.00 per team inc GST.
3. ORGANISERS RIGHTS:
3.1 The organisers reserve the right to cancel or abandon the meeting should less than the minimum number of entries be received. The minimum number of entries required for this event is 15 teams, by the close of normal entries. The maximum number of teams is 35, with all entries taken on a first in basis.
3.2 Should the organisers need to cancel or abandon the meeting for reasons of Force Majeure or any other reason, then any entry fee refund will be made only at the discretion of the organisers.
4. TEAMS & CLASSES:
4.1 Teams must consist of 2 drivers and are allowed a maximum of 2 cars.
4.2 No driver may be part of more than one team.
5. PRACTICE,QUALIFYING & RACE FORMAT:
5.1 Documentation & scrutineering will be available on Saturday 19th September from 11.30am- 1.00pm.
5.2 One 10 minute practice session will be available prior to qualifying. Qualifying will take place on Saturday 19th September at 1.30pm. Except at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course, each team car must participate in qualifying with the fastest time being using to set the grid. That car must start the race. Where there are Two driver cars – each driver must participate in qualifying. Either driver may start the race.
5.3 There will be three races. Each race will be 30 minutes plus one lap in duration. Each car or driver from a team, must be changed within the ‘transition zone’ and within the pit window.
5.4 Each race start will be rolling.
5.5 The starting grid for Race 1 will be determined by qualifying times, fastest to the front. Race 2 will be a full reverse grid of race 1 and Race 3 will be points accumulated.
6. RULES FOR TEAM RACING & TEAM TRANSITION:
6.1 The Pit Window for the ‘transition zone’ will open 10 minutes after the race start and close 20 minutes after the race start.
6.2 Each team must change car/driver during the Pit Window. Each team must remain stationary in the ‘transition zone’ for a minimum of 45 seconds.
6.2 There will be a dedicated ‘transition zone’ which will be located in the pit paddock, but will form part of the race circuit. When not in the fast lane, a 15km/h speed limit will apply to, from and within the transition zone.
6.3 Team cars/drivers may only be swapped over in the ‘transition zone’ and driver’s seatbelts must be fully fastened anytime the car is moving.
6.4 The incoming car must have the driver’s seatbelts fully fastened until it has come to a complete stop in the ‘transition zone’.
6.5 The outgoing car will be sitting in the ‘transition zone’ a maximum of 2 minutes before the arrival of the other car. The driver will be waiting with driver’s seatbelts fully fastened. It may have the engine running. A maximum of two team members may be in ‘transition zone’.
6.6 The incoming car will pull into the ‘transition zone’. It will pull up close to the outgoing car. A team member will be responsible for recording the 45 second compulsory pit stop.
6.7 Driver changes may take place during the 45 seconds.
6.8 If any car stops on track and is unable to continue the next car may not leave and shall be withdrawn from the race.
6.9 Pit paddock and pit lane speed limits must be obeyed at all times. Any breach of this will result in a drive through penalty. The speed limit in the entire transition zone is 15 km/h, until the fast lane of pit lane is reached and the speed limit in the fast lane of pit lane is 40 km/h.
6.10 No work at all can be performed on any car in the transition zone.

7. SAFETY CAR:
7.1 Cars may pit and transition under safety car
7.2 The pit lane exit will be closed from when the safety car goes past pit lane entrance, until the last car in the safety car train goes past the pit lane exit.
8 - PENALTIES :
8.1 For any breach of these specific rules the penalty, unless specified elsewhere, will be a drive through penalty.
8.2 Penalties will be applied to the team, via the car on the track when the penalty is issued or applied. This may not necessarily be the car that incurred the penalty.
9. REFUELLING:
9.1 Competitors must be familiar with the Code of Practice for Motorsport Fuel storage & handling and operate within the requirements of this code at all times.
9.2 All teams must have a dedicated fire marshal equipped with a 9kg fire extinguisher present at all times when refuelling is happening. Failure to do so, or any other breach of the Code of Practice for Motorsport Fuel will result in a drive through penalty being applied to that team.
9.3 No refuelling is allowed in pit lane or the ‘transition zone’. All refuelling is to be done in the pit paddock.

They are fakes. At this stage we are not angry we are more curious as to who would do this.
