🌼 Kōwhai Festival 2026 – Keeping the Focus on Community 🌼

As this is an election year, the Kōwhai Festival Committee has made the decision that this year’s festival and market will remain politically neutral.

The Kōwhai Festival is first and foremost a community event — a day to bring people together, support local businesses and organisations, enjoy entertainment and celebrate our town.

For this reason, political party and candidate stalls, campaigning and election-related promotional activity will not form part of this year’s festival.

This approach applies equally to all political parties and candidates.

We look forward to another fantastic day celebrating our community. 💛

It has come to our attention that scammers are impersonating the Kowhai Festival and sending fraudulent vendor application emails.

These emails are NOT from the Kowhai Festival Committee and are being sent from the email address:

[email protected]

The emails contain a fake application form and may request payment for vendor sites.

❌ Please DO NOT click any links.
❌ Do NOT submit any information.
❌ Do NOT make any payments.

If you receive one of these emails:
📧 Forward it to the Kowhai Festival Committee.
🚫 Mark it as spam/phishing.
🗑️ Delete it.

Please remember that all official Kowhai Festival communications and vendor information will only come through our official channels.

If you are ever unsure whether a message is legitimate, please contact us directly before responding or making any payment.

Get ready to dust off your flares, leather jackets, tie-dye, mini skirts, peace signs, and platform shoes as we celebrate an unforgettable era of music and culture.
Dress to impress and join in the fun! Prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed Rock & Roll outfits.
Whether you're channeling your inner rock star, hippie, or dancing queen, we can't wait to see everyone embracing the theme and bringing the energy of 1969 to the festival.
