THIS YEAR'S KOWHAI FESTIVAL THEME IS... ROCK & ROLL!
We're taking it right back to where it all began – the iconic sounds, style, and spirit of Rock & Roll from 1969!
Get ready to dust off your flares, leather jackets, tie-dye, mini skirts, peace signs, and platform shoes as we celebrate an unforgettable era of music and culture.
Dress to impress and join in the fun! Prizes will be awarded for the Best Dressed Rock & Roll outfits.
Whether you're channeling your inner rock star, hippie, or dancing queen, we can't wait to see everyone embracing the theme and bringing the energy of 1969 to the festival.

Secretary Wanted – Kōwhai Festival Committee
Would you like to be part of New Zealand’s second longest running community festival?
The Kōwhai Festival Committee is currently seeking expressions of interest for the role of Secretary.
Meetings are currently held once per month on Tuesdays, with meetings likely increasing to fortnightly closer to the festival.
This is a great opportunity to get involved in a long-standing community event, work alongside a passionate team, and help support one of the region’s biggest festivals.
If you are organised, reliable, and keen to be involved, we would love to hear from you.
