Before we officially hit February, I should get the New Year Salutations out of the way.

Ngā mihi o te tau hou, Happy Gregorian New Year, welcome to the year of the Horse.

2026 musings that no one asked for; I'm feeling conflicted about the role of social media. Am I getting old and codger-y, is it daft to quit a useful and 'free' business tool? Maybe, probably? I'm worried about the way images and data are being used, the effects of AI on the creative industries, especially AI generated prints, and our role in publishing public data. Conservation framing is about preservation and I wonder if there is a deeper conversation to be had about preserving the integrity of artists and makers and the mahi that goes into original ideas and how difficult it is to make a living as a creative.

We'll linger for the foreseeable future, I'll continue to post updates as required, but the best way to stay in the loop is to sign up to our mailing list. "But my inbox is full!" you say, well yes, mine too. I try to keep it quarterly. I promise not to spam, and only ever email about lead-times, closure dates, exhibition openings or the odd seconds sale.

Also, feel free to change my mind in the comments or in person. More discourse on this topic required.
