My latest project! My wooden ebike. Carved out of cedar then epoxy and carbon fibre. So pleased with this! It's taken about 6 months . Not quite finished. I've been riding it to work last week. 72 volt 5000 watt motor .

We're continuing to showcase the finalists of the 2020 Fieldays No. 8 Wire National Art Awards. Next up we have 'Kina' by Bruce Stilwell.

Bruce was born in the small town of Otematata in 1968. He predominantly works with velvet and threads. He is a father of six and a full-time joiner, Bruce's art creations are a part-time love of the creativeness that he has always dabbled. He won the People's Choice award in the 2017 Changing Threads Contemporary Fibre Art Awards in his hometown of Nelson. In 2018 he was the winner of the Dunedin Art Show. Bruce sells his art internationally and often finds himself creating new designs.

Hi everyone.

This is my " Kina" that i have entered into the "Number 8 wire art award" in Hamilton.

It made the finals but no big prizes.

It took me weeks to make!!

Kina is made from over 700 metres of number8 wire. Cut into 1400 pieces, fitted and welded individuals into this 1300mm in diameter structure. And back lit with led lights.

It's been the most satisfying project I've done in quite while!

So if any of you live in Hamilton? Pop in and have look.

I have also now got 10 of pictures at Soul Gallery. Such a cool gallery! In Hamilton. So I'd love everyone to call in and see my thread work which im little bit better known for.

Finally got around to finishing this table! Its 800mm diameter and 740mm high. It has a heart rimu top. If anyone is interested in purchasing this lovely piece of furniture pm me for details.

My laterst work. 980mm diameter. Black velvet background with 3mm wide flat gold cord. Looks amazing at night. The gold glows.
