Kaha Movement NZ

Kaha Movement NZ Dance workshops for local communities. Kaha Movement create easily accessible dance workshops for community engagement.

Led by Jared Hemopo, a professional Māori dance artist and facilitator, the workshops will explore a variety of movement styles including, Hip-Hop, Fusion and Contemporary dance. Jared has been an active member of the New Zealand dance industry for over a decade. Originally from a Hiphop background, he has participated in numerous regional and national competitions, and competed at the World Hip H

op Championships with his dance crew Limitbreak. Jared is a trained Contemporary dancer and was an ex-company member of Footnote NZ Dance. He has facilitated many masterclasses and community dance workshops. Recently, he was a part of a project called Te Ahu Taiohi for the Aotearoa NZ Festival of the Arts, where he was a dance facilitator for 30 Taiohi (youth) from Porirua, Wellington. Te Ahu Taiohi won an excellence award for theatre for social change at the 2022 Wellington Theatre Awards.
