Upper Hutt Musical Theatre Inc. Upper Hutt Musical Theatre was established in 1975 and produces large musicals, musical revues and children's pantomimes.

Upper Hutt Musical Theatre was established in 1975. It owns and operates Up-Stage Theatre, located at 26A Moonshine Road, Upper Hutt. Membership encompasses around 90 people of various ages from all walks off life. UHMT produce shows from large musicals (Chicago, My Fair Lady) to revues and children's pantomimes. Mission: Upper Hutt Musical Theatre provides quality entertainment and opportunities for everyone to experience all aspects of musical theatre.

It’s been a busy King’s Birthday weekend at Upper Hutt Musical Theatre! ✨👑

Our committee and their whānau spent the long weekend giving the theatre a full refresh as we get ready for upcoming venue hires and our second show of the year, After Dark.

- Green room tidy-up

- Costume organisation

- Props shed clean-out

- Backstage refresh

- Stage painting

And after months of nautical fun, it’s officially time to say goodbye to Bikini Bottom — SpongeBob has left the building! 🍍💛

A huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers who gave up their time to help. We truly couldn’t do this without your hard work and dedication.

Thank You to Donna from Crewcut Hutt Valley!

Upper Hutt Musical Theatre would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Donna from Crewcut Hutt Valley, who generously gave her time, energy, and equipment to tackle the enormous hedge on our grounds. Your mahi made a massive difference, and we are so grateful for your support.

A huge thank you also to our committee member Arna‑Rose Hannan and her whānau for rolling up their sleeves and helping get the job done. Teamwork like this keeps our theatre thriving.

As a volunteer‑run organisation, we rely on the kindness and skills of people in our community, and support like this is always deeply appreciated.

If you’re in need of gardening maintenance or outdoor tidy‑ups, we highly recommend reaching out to Donna and the Crewcut Hutt Valley team — they’ve been incredible to work with.

⭐️Aidan Fitzgerald, one of our SpongeBobs, was named runner up for the Te Tohu Auahatanga me te Ahurea | Creativity and Culture Award.🎭

💙Fynn Burns-Esam, one of our Patricks, was a finalist for the Te Tohu Auahatanga me te Ahurea | Creativity and Culture Award.🎥

👑Sarah Fitzgerald, one of our Sandys, was a finalist for the Te Tohu Hākinakina me te Whai Oranga | Sport and Active Participation Award.🩰
