❤️ WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO - THE STORY BEHIND COUNTY LANE FAIR 🦁
Every November, something pretty special happens at Brewtown Upper Hutt.
But County Lane Fair actually began with a very simple purpose - to help raise money for a backup generator for Te Omanga Hospice.
The very first fair was held at the Riding for the Disabled venue, with the Silverstream Lions Club bringing together stallholders, supporters and the local community to raise funds for this important piece of equipment.
From those early beginnings, County Lane Fair has grown into our biggest fundraiser of the year, but the reason we do it has never changed - to raise money to help others.
Over the years, the fair has evolved and moved to Brewtown, and we've welcomed more local makers, artisans, food vendors and families. We've also developed a real focus on handmade, recycled, upcycled and eco-friendly products, creating a market that's a little different from the usual.
We've been incredibly proud to have raised close to $120,000 through County Lane Fair over the years, supporting some wonderful causes along the way.
And this year, we're doing it again. ❤️
100% of the profits from County Lane Fair 2026 will go to Well Wellington Free Ambulance and Lions Clubs Cancer Trust skin bus.
Silverstream Lions is made up of ordinary people who volunteer their time because they believe that small groups of people can make a big difference. County Lane Fair is one of the ways we bring our community together while raising much-needed funds for people and organisations who need our support.
So when you come along on Saturday 14 November, you're not just coming to a market.
You're supporting local makers.
You're enjoying a day out with your family and friends.
You're helping us raise money for two very worthwhile causes.
And you're helping continue the story of a little fair that started with a generator for Te Omanga Hospice. 🦁
