The sneakers are done.
These started as a pair of soles that were too big for me, but thanks to a collaborative design effort with their new owner, they have become something pretty special.
Mustard accents, navy laces and a pair of very happy Luna moths ready to head off to their new home.
A lot of fun to make and a nice change of pace.

Finished!

This is the Charyn handbag by Kaur Threads, featuring Rosewood faux leather from Paulene Longley, black marine vinyl and antique brass hardware.

I am really happy with how this one turned out. The Rosewood panel was always going to be the feature, and I love the contrast against the black vinyl. The dusty rose floral lining finishes it off beautifully.

Now to clear the sewing table before I start the next project.

A little more progress on the Charyn handbag today.

The bag is now assembled and ready for the final hardware.

I am really pleased with how the Rosewood faux leather from Flossiphy is looking against the black marine vinyl, and I love how well the dusty rose floral lining complements the front panel.

Not long now before this one is finished.

That’s me for day 2 annual leave in the Cabin!! This one is all ready for finial construction tomorrow!!!

Today’s progress on the next Charyn handbag by Kaur Threads.

The front panels, sides and back are all prepped and ready to go.

I’m really happy with how the Rosewood faux leather from Paulene Longley is looking on the front panels. It’s one thing seeing a print on a sheet of vinyl and another seeing it worked up into an actual bag.

Home from the sewing retreat and finally unpacked!

I was lucky enough to be gifted some of Flossiphy’s Vintage Rose faux leather while I was away. I’ve followed her artwork for a while, but there’s something different about seeing the faux leather in person and getting to work with it.

There just happens to be enough here for the feature panels on a Charyn handbag, so I think it’s going to be heading under the needle very soon.

Of course, seeing it in person also meant I may have accidentally ordered some more!
