This is always a super fun comp with excellent route setting, so come and get amongst it. You don't need to be affiliated to a club to enter. Everyone welcome.

‘Twas the night before the comp, and all through the gym,
Not a climber was stirring, the lighting was dim.
The quickdraws were hung by the anchors with care,
In hopes that the crushers soon would be there.

But Josh and Synøve were collapsed on the floor,
Their tendons and muscles completely at war.
Our bodies are broken, we’re dead on our feet,
From setting twenty-four routes to make this complete!

Eleven whole categories wait for the fray,
To battle the plastic starting early next day.
From the youngest of crushers to the veterans bold,
We’ve bolted the volumes and scrubbed every hold.

But alas, a dark plague has swept through the land,
And the dreaded winter flu has disrupted the plan.
Over ten of our climbers have coughed and bailed out,
Leaving much better odds for the rest, there's no doubt!

So pack up your harnesses, tape up your skin,
Tomorrow’s the day that the battles begin.
To the healthy who made it, get ready for flight—
Happy sending to all, and to all a good night!

Kia ora climbers,

Unfortunately both Josh and I are away this weekend representing Tūrangi at the District Graded Champs, so the gym will be closed. On the bright side, the weather is perfect for an outdoor climbing mission - no one wants to be inside anyway!

Morena team,

Just a note to say we WILL be open today until such a time that the cyclone closes us. We’ve decided that the cyclone closes us once the open sign blows over, haha!

Keep safe though and make good decisions (climbing is always a good decision, right?)
