"The Female Frequency"

Following a successful season in Timaru this time last year, Female Frequency is coming to Geraldine for a special six-week experience celebrating the voices, stories and music of remarkable women.

More than a singing group, Female Frequency is a journey through the music of the women who helped shape soul, folk, rock, pop, jazz and blues. Each week, we’ll explore a different musical style, learn about the artists behind the songs and sing music that speaks to courage, resilience, self-expression and solidarity.

Along the way, you’ll receive professional vocal coaching, develop your confidence and vocal skills and discover more about your own unique voice. The workshops are relaxed, encouraging and filled with music, connection and laughter—without auditions, solo-singing pressure or any need for previous experience.

Whether you already love to sing, are returning to music after time away or are only beginning to find your voice, Female Frequency offers the chance to learn, connect and become part of something meaningful.

SOMETHING EXCITING IS COMING TO McNALLY VOCAL STUDIO!

Have you ever wanted to sing in a choir that feels modern, joyful and full of energy?

Introducing our brand-new Performance Choir Workshops—a six-week singing experience for women who want to:

Sing brilliant songs
Learn gorgeous group harmonies
Build confidence and performance skills
Challenge themselves in a supportive environment
Experience the absolute magic of voices coming together!

You don’t need to be a polished performer or an expert music reader. This will be a warm, welcoming and inclusive space—but we’ll also have a real project to work towards, because there’s nothing quite like the excitement of creating something amazing together!

This first six-week course will be our chance to experiment, dream big and discover what this group could become. There are no public performances scheduled yet—we’ll discuss future possibilities together as the group develops.

Beginning Wednesday 21 October
6:00–7:00pm
Drama Suite, Timaru Girls’ High School
$15 per workshop

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to start singing again—or you’re ready to step forward and discover what your voice can do—this is it.

Come and be part of something new. Something uplifting.

This post is a shout out to the teachers at Pleasant Point Primary School.
They have been working hard to prepare their students for their upcoming production which I cannot wait to see!
It's wonderful to see dance, drama and music performances happening for our young people. How lucky are they? 🙌🙌

I had the privilege of hearing all of the hard work that has gone into this group's repertoire preparation today. I love being reminded of how amazing primary school teachers are, I take my hat off to them!

These kiddies were adorable 🥰🥰 it was such a privilege to get to work with them for a wee while!! 🎶🎶
