This April I’m excited to be a featured artist at the Thames Art Gallery, sharing a collection of works shaped by my connection to the Coromandel landscape and acknowledgement to my Māori ancestry

My practice is intuitive and layered, often drawing on native birds, flora, and a sense of memory and place. Each piece holds a quiet story, an invitation to slow down, look a little closer, and find your own meaning within the details 🌻

I would be stoked if you took a moment to go to the gallery and experience my exhibition, and all the wonderfully talented artists that the gallery showcases

Sometimes people tell me they love a piece…
but aren’t quite sure how to take the next step

So here’s a gentle reminder šŸ¤

Collecting art doesn’t have to feel formal or intimidating. It can start with a feeling — that moment where a piece stops you, draws you in, or quietly stays with you

All of my artworks are original, layered, intuitive pieces, created slowly and with a lot of heart. Each one is completely unique

If an artwork speaks to you, you can purchase it either by sending me a DM or via my website — whatever feels most comfortable

No pressure. No expectations.
Just art finding the home it’s meant for

Hi, I’m Lisa, a mixed media artist based in Aotearoa / New Zealand
I’ve always been creative, but around 2018 something shifted
I began taking online courses and attending workshops, and in the process (quite literally) I found my way back to what I love most about art: experimenting, layering, trusting instinct, and letting a piece evolve in its own time
My work is intuitive and mixed media, full of texture, collage, marks, words, symbols and little surprises that peek through the layers
Most pieces go through many transformations before I know they’re done
I don’t always start with a clear plan, but I usually know when to stop
When I imagine my art out in the world, I picture someone standing with it… feeling something
Maybe it reminds you of a place, a moment, or a memory. Maybe it surprises you, uplifts you, intrigues you — or maybe you just love the colour and texture. That’s enough
I want my art to reflect life in all its layers
I want you to see what you see
And mostly, I want you to enjoy the visual and textural experience — whatever that means to you
Thanks for being here šŸ¤

Art has a quiet way of weaving itself into daily life

You pass it on your way to make coffee
You notice it differently as the light shifts
Some days it says something new, other days it simply is

That’s what I hope for my work
That it becomes part of your space, your rhythm, your world

If an artwork of mine ever feels like it belongs with you, you’re welcome to explore what’s available on my website or send me a message. I’m always happy to help (website link in bio)

Let art choose you šŸ¤

I’ve been having tons of fun creating embellishments for our upcoming Junk Journalling Workshop (only 3 spaces left!)
You will not only create pages for your journal (everything you need for the workshop is included), you will also learn to make these fun and quirky pieces to add extra texture, colour and interest to your journals
Traditionally junk journals are made from recycled, up-cycled, found and repurposed paraphernalia
But like my artist life, I like to break the rules and use whatever I’m drawn to!
Trish Knight and myself are excited to be hosting our second workshop, message us with any curiosities
