We're looking for artists and creatives who love sharing what they do.

The Waipā Creative Trail showcases interesting and inspiring creative work.

It's also about meeting the people behind it, discovering how things are made, and hearing their stories.

For the 2027 Trail, we're once again looking for artists and creatives excited to be part of the experience.

This opportunity is for those who enjoy welcoming visitors, sharing their knowledge, talking about their work, and answering questions.

They want to make a visit to their studio or collaborative space interesting, engaging and memorable.

They also enjoy connecting with other creatives, supporting each other, and being part of something bigger than their own exhibition or studio.

And they'll help us spread the word and help make the whole Trail a success.

There's plenty of creativity to celebrate just down the road this weekend!

A big shout-out to our friends at Ōtorohanga Creative Conduit, who are bringing music, art and creativity together for Artbeat this Saturday and Sunday.

With a fabulous lineup of live performances, creative demonstrations, exhibitions, and more, it's a great opportunity to discover local talent, experience something new, and support the creative community in our neighbouring district.

There's a reason we called it the Waipā CREATIVE Trail, rather than the Waipā Art Trail.

We wanted to celebrate creativity in all its many forms.

It's also why we talk about artists and creatives, and use those terms really broadly!

We love having painters, potters, sculptors, glassmakers and other visual artists involved.

We also love those from many other creative modalities.

Take Rodney, who makes guitars. Greg, a blacksmith. Or Nita, who grows foliage.

They're all creatives doing fascinating things, and we want to celebrate them alongside the visual artists.

We've been wondering how much more variety we can add to the 2027 Trail.

Makers, designers, writers, musicians, craftspeople, and people working in creative mediums we haven't even thought of yet.

If you make, create, design, grow, build, perform or bring ideas to life in interesting ways, we'd love to hear from you.

Waipā artists and creatives, there are two ways you can be part of the 2027 Waipā Creative Trail.

1. Open your own studio

Invite visitors into your creative space, share what you do, show your work and give people a glimpse into your creative process.

2. Get creative together

Team up with other artists and creatives to bring a space to life!

It could be a shared exhibition, a group open studio, demonstrations, workshops, installations, or something completely different.

Whether it's just two of you or up to 20 creatives, this is an opportunity to collaborate, share your work, connect with visitors, and create a unique experience.

Waipā artists & creatives, this one’s for you.

Applications to take part in the 2027 Waipā Creative Trail will open in November.

If you’re an artist or creative working in any medium and you’re interested in being part of the Trail, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need to apply yet or send us any details about your work.

Head to waipacreativetrail.com/participate and join the notification list.

We’ll then keep you posted on what's happening and let you know when applications open in November.

LAST CHANCE! Artists and creatives in Te Awamutu, Kihikihi, Pirongia and the surrounding areas, do you want to be listed in the Love Te Awamutu magazine?

Organised by Te Awamutu Business Chamber and Te Awamutu Information & Visitor Centre, the magazine will celebrate our town and neighbouring communities - the people, places, businesses and stories that help shape who we are.

And local creativity is part of that.

The magazine will include a directory of local artists and creatives, and we want to make sure you know about this opportunity.

Designed as a beautiful, long-lasting publication, Love Te Awamutu will make its way onto coffee tables, into cafés and businesses, and around our community.
