Meet Shayla from Moving & Grooving ⭐
Dance has been part of Shayla’s life since she was four, and over the years that love has grown into a rewarding journey of dancing, teaching, and sharing her passion with others.

After years of competing across New Zealand and earning awards, scholarships and distinctions, Shayla discovered a true love for teaching. From elite crews and international titles to founding her own successful dance school, she’s created supportive, affordable spaces where young dancers can build confidence and truly thrive.

Most recently, Shayla competed in Australia for the final time as a soloist, placing Top 5 in every class and taking out National Contemporary Open Age Champion - an outstanding achievement in a highly competitive field.

We’re proud to have Shayla running “Moving & Grooving” dance classes at Elizabeth Street Community & Arts Centre, where her experience, kindness and dedication shine in every session.
