❤️ A lifesaving gift to our theatre community! ❤️

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Tauranga Mōana Lions Club, we have been able to purchase a state-of-the-art AED (automated external defibrillator) for our theatre.

Alongside Dr Zoë Cruse, we’re thrilled to have brought this lifesaving piece of equipment into our building, a gift that could one day make the difference between life and death.

In Aotearoa New Zealand, approximately 5 people every day are treated for an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, around 2,000 people each year. Their chance of survival drops by approximately 10–15% for every minute without effective CPR and access to an AED.

This is an incredible milestone for our theatre, for everyone who performs, works and volunteers here, and for the wider community who walks through our doors. It also provides a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of basic life support and knowing what to do in an emergency.

We are incredibly grateful to Tauranga Moana Lions Club for their generosity and for helping us make our theatre a safer place for everyone. 💙
