💡 Building Great Dancers 💡
⭐️ Toni ⭐️

When we asked Toni what makes a great dance student, she didn't talk about talent.
She talked about foundations.
"Someone willing to go back to basics. Flashy moves are fun, but solid foundations is where the magic really happens."
It's advice she's seen proven over and over again.

One of her favourite parts of teaching isn't demonstrating difficult moves.
It's watching someone suddenly understand.
"Those 'Aha!' moments... or seeing someone use something I've taught in a social dance or competition."

And if you're just starting your dance journey?
✨ "Relax, it will click. The more you dance, the faster it happens."
Oh... and one more tip...
😉 "Teachers like to be asked to dance too. We're friendly, promise."

We couldn't agree more.

💙 Every Dancer Starts Somewhere 💙
⭐️ Julie ⭐️

Even our teachers remember what it felt like to be new.
For Julie, one of the biggest challenges wasn't learning the moves...
It was finding the confidence to ask more experienced dancers for a dance.
"It still is sometimes."

One lesson completely changed the way she danced.
A private lesson with Kate and Andre helped her realise she was being a rigid follow.
"I've learnt to soften up as a result."
It's a lovely reminder that no matter how long you've been dancing, there's always something new to discover.

When asked what advice she'd give someone trying dance for the first time, her answer was simple,
✨ "Give it a go, have fun, smile and don't expect to get it straight away."

And perhaps the advice we all need to hear from time to time...
💛 "Nobody is judging if you make a mistake, just laugh."

We think that's a philosophy worth taking onto every dance floor.

🌟 Teacher Spotlight 🌟
⭐️ Rebecca ⭐️

Have you met Rebecca?
If you've taken one of her classes, you'll know she's passionate about helping dancers grow, but becoming a teacher wasn't something she originally planned.
After years of competing, she was asked to fill in while another teacher was overseas. It felt like a natural progression, and before long she was training to become a teacher herself.

See, some people discover dance later in life, but for Rebecca, it has simply always been there.
"I've been dancing since primary school, so I don't think I discovered dance... I just grew up doing it."
More than 30 years later, she's explored an incredible range of styles, including jazz ballet, ballroom, salsa, Ceroc 👌, West Coast Swing, and most recently, line dancing.

When she's not on the dance floor, you'll often find her practising yoga, paddle boarding, or enjoying a fruit tea... or perhaps a gin 😉
🐝 Fun fact?
Most people are surprised to learn she's a beekeeper!

When asked to describe dance in one word, her answer was beautifully simple, ❤️ Life.
Some answers really do say it all.
