All levels of sketchers are encouraged, from beginner to advanced, using whatever medium you prefer. Sharing ideas and enjoying our drawin

g in a social, relaxed community of sketchers is what we are all about. Please bring your own sketching materials and other items like sunscreen, hat, a seat, water, etc., as required for outdoor sketching. We will meet at a particular location at a specified time and then the choice of what subject to draw is yours. We will usually get together again after about 2 hours to share our work and socialise. We love to share our work while observing the guidelines outlined in our manifesto.

Supersized turnout today as we welcomed a few new sketchers at Mount Mainstreet ! Lots of chat and two 40minute sketches - street scene and people - got us hustling with so much variety and talent. We are a clever bunch of scratchers oops sketchers lol !

Turns out Furn Park Gardens was a 'fun' place to be ! Stunning gardens and woodlands, industrial chic a la engineering sculptures, restored machinery, steam punk, and an amazing collection of antique sewing machines..we were in sketching heaven. Huge thanks to Steve (the engineer and sculpture maestro) and Kathy for their hospitality and interest.

A 'painless' visit to the now Dentist rooms on Cliff Road for our InnerCity Last Sunday sketching. A Craftsman Bunglow that was popular at the time of building, inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement circa 1920, the house gave our merry band plenty of options and angles to sketch.Thanks to Andrew Newsom Dental for the opportunity. And a great post sketch coffee at RH.

We came, we snacked on scones and we sketched in support of The Incubator 'Village Vibes' day at the Historic Village. And we were treated to a mini sketch class by KiwiSketcher (Murray Dewhurst) from Urban Sketchers Auckland. The Village is looking a treat with new shops, cafes and restaurants.

Spring Sketching in Palmers Bethlehem Garden Centre and Cafe..tho some, less kind than myself, might say socialising was the winner on the day 🤣 ! Lots of excellent interpretations of our surroundings plus we were treated to another wonderful travel sketchbook, and finished sketches from our last outing. If u are sitting on the fence join us 2nd Tuesday of each month !
