Helpful tools
Just so everyone is clear about what I am doing here with these posts. As mentioned, the Artists who actively marketed themselves had success with the Art Trail when it ran in May. For many of you, marketing yourself is foreign. We are all taught not to blow our own trumpet lest we be seen as someone who has tickets on themselves. However, the simple facts are that we live in a remote part of the country and have to reach a bigger market. I don't claim to e an expert I am attempting to share tools with you I use or am exploring in the hoper we all gain benefit so this is a bit of a 101 series on how to do that.

Before we get into posts many of which will contain photos and images. let's look in this post at how to get images of your phone into your computer Laptop or desktop.

I have found buff.ly/4eZwR1M a useful tool. You can get this at the App Store if you have an iPhone or at the Play Store if you have an Android Phone. Both are free. Just click install and the app will load automatically.

Please explore this and learn it. It's a basic building block we can build on top of.

One quirk I have noticed when I download photos from my Android phone is that they can sometimes arrive with a .heic file extension these need to be converted to .jpg so I just go to this website https://buff.ly/3Ns6mGC and drag and drop the photos onto the website page and then press the convert to .jpg button and download them again as jpegs. Last night at the Waimarino Art Awards. I was lucky enough to win a couple of awards yay. That brightened my day. Here are the Paintings. The first one was entered into the 'Everyday day Life section' that's the funniest part. Since when do you wonder around with beehive on your head in every day life? Anyway the man upstairs has benevolently smiled in my direction so who am I to deny it. Then there was also the Ruapehu painting that won a prize as well so lucky me aye. It is Lynne that needs the medal for putting up with me since I've been obsessively doing these projects. Hopefully now we can have a week or two balance

Scheduled to start at the end of next week. New Photographic works by me. A focus on the dark beauty of decay which particular emphasis on the abandoned trains. Aiming to turn these eyesores into art. Approximately 15 works A2 and A1 sized.
