We love our loverly location every year on the Wakefield Community green and the hall on the 2nd of January thank you Tasman District Council - Te Kaunihera o te tai o Aorere
We also hope to keep this a location for elderly and physically challenged locals to visit. This has become challenging of late as the tree roots are destroying the pathways of this beautiful park and causing an obstacle course for our local disadvantaged.
We were notified of numerous tripping due to uneven surfaces and of brick distortions on the path.
Could TDC please investigate and resolve these potentially dangerous pathways?
Please leave your comments and experiences navigating this public place of late.

Our Story

'Wakefield Country Fete' handmade local crafts & foods Market, held annually, The oldest local craft market in the region, over 30 years old.

I am Nita Henry the CEO of the 'Wakefield Country Fete.' as of last year and held every year on the 2nd of January 9.30-2.30pm (Public Holiday)

Glenn Turner entrusted me with the market and I will now be endeavouring to make this the highlight of Wakefield’s market events. Bringing people to Wakefield and maintaining this event as it is the oldest market in the region and been operating for the past 30 odd years.

I was the only person within the market who offered to take it on, as I felt it was a significant valuable asset to the community artisans and would be sad to have seen it die.
