Stewart Dance Studios We have been teaching dance for over 50 years in the Papakura and Takanini area.

As one of New Zealand's top studios, we aim to provide all our students, from preschoolers to adults with the best possible dance experience from dedicated and qualified teachers. We offer classes in Modern Jazz, Classical Ballet, Tap dancing, Hip Hop, Stretch Classes and Contemporary.

Not every child who dances will grow up to be a professional dancer... and that's perfectly ok, because dance gives children so much more than performance skills 🌈

We’re excited to welcome Emma Kate Putnam as our adjudicator for this year’s Medal Test! 🙌🏼✨

Originally born in London and raised in Aotearoa, Emma has spent more than a decade working professionally as a dancer, performer, teacher, examiner, and adjudicator 💃🏼 Her career has taken her around the world, including training and performing in Auckland, New York, Los Angeles, and beyond 🌍

Emma brings a wealth of experience across many dance styles, including jazz, hip hop, ballet, contemporary, musical theatre, house, locking, and samba 🔥 Alongside her performance career, she has judged competitions throughout New Zealand and Australia, examined dancers for recognised syllabi, and taught workshops nationwide 🪩

Known for her encouraging and constructive approach, Emma is passionate about helping dancers grow in both technique and performance quality ⭐️ She values authentic storytelling, musicality, and confidence, and loves supporting young dancers as they develop their skills and find their own artistic voice 🌈

We’re thrilled to have Emma joining us and know our dancers will gain so much from her feedback and expertise throughout the Medal Test weekend 💜

What an egg-citing week it’s been at Stewart Dance Studios! 🙌🏼🥳 With 100+ guesses across Maraetai and Takanini, our Easter Jar competition definitely kept everyone on their toes 🐰🍫

The big reveal… Each jar had 56 eggs! 🪺👀

We had some very close guesses, but our winners were the FIRST to guess the exact number 👏
