Oak and Ember is seeking local makers to add to our Shop and Gallery. We would love to diversify our product range and display more of Golden Bays creators.

We’re currently looking for:
• Natural skincare
• Herbal products and teas
• Candles
• Blankets + cushions to display on our seating.
• Small, locally crafted items
• Houseplants

If you create handmade, thoughtfully made products and are interested in stocking your work with us, we’d love to hear from you.

Looking for a place to park your food cart is Takaka this summer? We are looking for the right cart to have in front of our space at Oak and Ember - 65 Commercial
Street.

The cart needs to be relatively small and have its own facitilies, but there’s space for an outdoor table and use of the seating under the tree and nice shade for those hot summer days.

🌿 Meet the Maker: Kylie Sinkovich

We’re delighted to introduce Kylie Sinkovich, a contemporary jeweller, photographer, and artist based in Golden Bay.

Kylie’s work is grounded in connection to landscape, material, and process. Her Hemi-Spheres jewellery series explores duality — light and dark, grounding and expansion — through hand-shaped rings made from natural materials such as stone, reclaimed wood, and sterling silver.

Alongside her jewellery, Kylie’s photography captures quiet moments of light, form, and atmosphere, inviting reflection and stillness. Influenced by time spent living in Japan, her work embraces simplicity and intentional making.
