In ‘Ūkaipō’ Henry Campbell captures place; particularly this place - Ngāmotu, Taranaki, Taranaki Maunga - in all its seasons, moods and faces.

As part of the show, Henry has a painting in progress that he works on during weekends, of Ngāmotu House and surrounds in central New Plymouth.

Explore this wonderful exhibition until Sunday 21 June.

Henry Campbell explores many different ways of making in ‘Ūkaipō’ - painting, sketching, drawing - using cloth, a palette knife, brush, ink, pencil, coffee - incorporating traditional ways and contemporary techniques.
Colours are bold, layered, textured; washes are delicate, the touch light and agile.
Be amazed, be inspired.

The show runs until Sunday 21 June.

Henry Campbell’s ‘Ūkaipō’ is deeply embedded in Te Taiao.
As a concept, Te Taiao embraces the natural world and our environment: sea, air, land and climate, along with people, animals, plants and creatures.

There is great awe in realising we are all connected, but real responsibility too. Henry captures this tension and this beauty in his exhibition, on until Sunday 21 June.

We are open today (31 May) from 10am - 3pm; closed tomorrow for King’s Birthday (Monday 1 June).
