Ko te whenua te kaupapa matua o tenei wānanga

Sunday morning Whaea Cushla joined us to hear kōrero from 4 Rangatahi who committed to a 6 month+ long māra kai challenge. Whaea Cushla taught them last year how to grow kūmara from tipu, with competition challenges along the way and a final challenge to cook their whanau a kai with what they’d grown they wrapped up by sharing their experiences with us all.

Well done, well deserved prize winners 🏆👏🏼

On Saturday our rangatahi biked and heard kōrero along the way stopping at:

- Muruika (ngā hōia)
- Kouramāwhitiwhiti
- Te Niho o te kiore
- Papa o Te Arawa
- Tawharakurupēti
- Paepaehakumanu
- Te Arawa Kauanga
- Waiwhitiinanga
- Puarenga
- Whakarewarewa Village (Aunty Manuariki, yes we clicked rather late that was you beeping out to us! 🫶🏼)
Passed through the Rotorua Tree Trust & back to the Marae.

Finished the evening watching the new Haane Manahi film 🎥 A must watch for all our whānau!
