πŸ€ΏπŸ’¦ The National Secondary School Underwater Hockey Tournament is wrapping up after an incredible 4 days of action here at Rotorua Aquatic Centre!

A special mention to Tauranga Boys, who are currently playing off for 3rd and 4th place. These dedicated athletes make the journey to our facility regularly to train, and we're proud to see them performing so well on the national stage.

It's been awesome to see the incredible support around the pools all week, with teammates, coaches, families, and supporters creating an amazing atmosphere for all involved.

Sunday was full of fun, laughter, and plenty of splashing!
We had an amazing turnout and loved seeing everyone enjoying the water inflatables, Tarzan Swing, mini trampoline, and scavenger hunt! πŸ₯³

🌱🌼 But the BIG highlight? Our planting activity! πŸͺ΄βœ¨

The kids got to design their very own paper cup, then choose a flower or vegetable to plant and take home with them! 🌻πŸ₯•
It was so awesome seeing their creativity come to life β€” and now they have a little plant to look after and watch grow! πŸ’š

πŸ’¦πŸ€Ώ Underwater Hockey Tournament This Week! πŸ’¦

Our Underwater Hockey Tournament kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 3 September at 12:00pm and runs through to Sunday 7 September at 1:30pm in the deep pool.

To help accommodate all our customers during the tournament, our 50m pool will be divided into two 25m pools, providing additional space for lap swimmers, aqua joggers, and recreational swimmers.

Please note:
πŸ”Ή Friday Aqua Class will not be running.
πŸ”Ή Saturday morning Aqua Class will go ahead as usual.
πŸ”Ή SwimMagic lessons will continue, with some classes that are normally held in the deep pool being moved to either the learner pool or outdoor pool.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while this exciting event is underway.

We're incredibly proud of our very own Mel, who helped the CLM team secure 3rd place at the National Pool Lifeguard Competition during the Annual Waves Conference! πŸ‘

Mel was also recognised as one of the Top 5 nominees nationally for Pool Lifeguard of the Year, an outstanding achievement and a testament to her dedication and professionalism.

🌊 Representing CLM with Pride

Today, the OPSEC National Pool Lifeguard Competition 2026 took place, and we are incredibly proud that it featured our very own lifeguard, Mel, competing as part of the CLM team. πŸ’™

Alongside teammates Jude, Blake, and Samuel, Mel put her skills, teamwork, and lifeguarding knowledge to the test against teams from across Aotearoa.

The team has worked hard in the lead-up to the competition, sharpening their rescue techniques, communication, and teamwork under pressure. Simply reaching this stage and competing at a national level is a fantastic achievement.

While the winners won't be announced until Thursday night at the Waves Annual Aquatics Conference Awards Dinner, we're proud of the team no matter the result. To us, they are already champions for the dedication, professionalism, and passion they bring to the industry every day.
