Eye to eye with my favourite teeny tiny bird - the ngirungiru | South Island (female) tomtit 💛🖤 along my fave track. The lichen and moss of the alpine forest & its surrounds are beautiful too. I haven't managed to get up there a lot over the last six months or so, but hoping to make it a regular thing again, even if it's just for the odd hike.

I am so excited!!! I'm waiting for a canvas to arrive of this photo, for my home. I took it a couple of years back (I will always be grateful to be able to explore the world of macro thanks again ). As soon as I took it that I wanted it in my new house. Which isn't so new now, it's coming up 2 years later on this year haha. And who would have thought, it's not a bird!!!! (albeit I will be picking some tomtit photos to frame and hang in my lounge sometime this year).

Maddy - Light Art family portraiture. Single long exposure 30 seconds, Nikon D600, F11, Tamron 24-70mm at 60mm, ISO 100 using a black fibre optic brush from . Very lucky I have a very patient daughter that models for me and keeps encouraging and willing me to nail the shot as this took quite a few goes -because it's been 2 years since I tried this type of portrait photography!! but I do have a few other really cool shots from this session too, woohoo. I love the creative freedom this type of (light art photography) medium allows me.
