Toitū te Mana: Tā Moko as Resistance, Mana Motuhake as Practice

Dr Hemopereki Simon joins celebrated tā moko practitioner and artist Te Rangitu Netana for a collaboration that brings together political thought, embodied practice, as mataora (male facial skin art) and Māori authority in a powerful gallery intervention.
Wānanga Session
On 17 April at 4:30pm, Hemopereki Simon will host a wānanga discussion engaging the political and philosophical questions that underpin this collaboration. At the centre of the collaboration is the relationship between tā moko and mana motuhake.
