Here’s my amendment to the Novhce Slipover - I like this cast on for under the arms before we join the front and back together to knit in the round. the cable cast on is still a stretchy cast on for under the arm, but has less chance of the “gape” you can get with the backwards loop

Here’s how to transfer your knitting from circulars to scrap yarn - this was for the Novice Slipover so I can pick up and start knitting the front. I use a thin wool - as it’s then thin enough to thread through. You can alias tie a thicker yarn to the end to pull through if you prefer.
