Good news as more DMC stock has arrived at last! We had run out of stock of a number of colours so it is great to have them back again. There are still a couple of colours that we are short of, but hopefully they will arrive shortly too. It will be a busy afternoon getting the backorders ready for courier pick up on Monday and restocking our DMC stand!

We have just received a shipment of 14ct Clear Plastic Canvas so now have plenty in stock. Our customer Tessa has sent us photos of these gorgeous buildings she has made stitching on this Plastic Canvas. She is working on a village and they are all based on her family history. There are lots of native birds in our garden this morning and it is great to see them using the bird bath. Of course they all flew away when I went to take the photo! 🙂 We have plenty of NZ birds on our bookmark kits, if you want to have a great reminder of them. These kits are also great for friends as a gift, and the sticky felt we sell makes it very easy and quick to finish off the bookmark.

I spent some time with some fellow stitchers on the weekend and both impressed me with how they amended their patterns to suit their own styles. Jocelyn is stitching Strawberry Fields Forever and has changed the house (using another pattern she had), plus the fence. She has removed a few items and added a few, and is now making a decision about the gate. Should she stitch it as in the pattern or do a farm style gate? Angela is stitching the Long Dog design and while she is sticking to the pattern, she has completely changed the colours and gone with her favourite purples as the main colours. 18 count Aida has been quite popular these past few weeks. Fat Quarters and larger pieces have been going out the door in orders. 18 ct is a good count if you like to use Aida but want the size of your finished project to be a bit smaller. 14 ct with its larger holes, makes a larger design than if you used 18ct. We have lots of colours available!

Space travel is back in the spotlight again with Artemis going around the moon last week. Stoney Creek have a pattern book with 6 different patterns for someone with a renewed interest in space. The pattern of the planets does include Pluto.... for those of us who remember when there used to be 9 planets not 8!
