We met in Auckland during the winter of 2025, drawn together by a shared curiosity for the connection between sound and consciousness.

Dinny brings her background in yoga, meditation, and art; Mako T explores the voice as a bridge between emotion and awareness; and Pierro Lunaire shapes immersive electronic soundscapes.

Together, we found a natural harmony between our paths - blending reflection, vibration, and creation into a shared exploration of what sound can awaken within.

Dinny is an Italian Artist and Yoga facilitator and co-founder of Art Yoga. She deepened her understanding in the native art world and achieved Kāwai Raupapa Certificate in Māori and Indigenous Art.
She co-founded the Art Yoga project in Aotearoa New Zealand which is a holistic wellbeing project based on the freedom of artistic expression combined with meditation practice to connect body, mind, and soul in a creative way with the purpose of supporting self-discovery for personal clarity and authenticity.

Mako T is an Italian-born singer and musician based in New Zealand. Always immersed in the world of music, after exploring the deepest layers of his being through meditation and conscious breathing, he chose to express his emotions through the voice as a channel of connection within and beyond himself.
After a few years of vocal study, he began performing on the streets as a busker to share his authentic self with people, while also carrying forward musical projects in his homeland. After spending almost two years in Australia, he moved to New Zealand in search of new spiritual and artistic inspiration, aiming to heal both mind and body through music therapy, drawing from his background in nursing.

Pierro is a musician, and producer of electronic music from France. His musical journey began with percussion studies at the conservatory of Vannes, followed by jazz and contemporary music training in Paris from 2013 to 2016, and a degree in electronic music production in Berlin from 2017 to 2019.
In 2021, he started a nomadic project aiming to connect electronic music with traditional sounds from around the world. The first chapter took place in Andalusia, Spain, and led to the EP Cuentos de Granada, released in 2023. In 2022, he traveled to Mexico, and in 2024, he set off for a new adventure in New Zealand to engage with Māori culture.

Our sound journey offers a unique meeting point between guided meditation, live vocals, and immersive electronic soundscapes.

Time for resolution and journey within, to deepen the experience with our own senses and to reveal our internal and external interconnections.

Guided meditation leads participants inward, opening a space for deep listening and embodied awareness.

Live vocals interlace with evolving synthesizer textures, creating a sensory landscape where stillness and movement coexist.

What makes this experience unique is the fusion of human voice, electronic synthesis, and mindfulness practice - a live, improvised dialogue between meditation, sound, and emotion.

Participants are invited to lie down, close their eyes, and let sound become a path to presence, release, and renewal.

Spaces are limited.
• Early Bird: $30 (Limited. Available until 20 May or until sold out)
• General: $45

Raglan Theatre Academy’s Performance Troupe is a dedicated group embracing the challenges of live performance.
The ensemble of eight performers showcase their talents in this piece for Live and Local; Echoes of a Midsummer Dream, inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

KALAKARI is an Australian Indie/soul artist whose music aches with honesty & heart. She began gigging in Australia at 14 and has opened for names like Ocean Alley, Bootleg Rascal, & Nai Palm.
She found that her most meaningful moments in music have not been those pinnacles but in the intimate shows where stories are shared and we can connect in our humanness through music.

The Blister Sisters continue their NZ Music Month tradition of ukeifying your favourite Kiwi hits. Come and see which songs could not escape their clutches this time as they subject the most unlikely choices to the ridiculously cheerful tones of this tiny instrument.

See you there. Don't be late.

Next Friday - the second Friday each and every month - another fantastic Live and Local line up for NZ Music Month....

Raglan Theatre Academy’s Performance Troupe proudly represents their performing arts school at events across Raglan and beyond. The ensemble of eight performers showcase their talents in dance, singing, and acting.
Their piece for Live and Local; Echoes of a Midsummer Dream, is inspired by William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, blending excerpts with song and dance.

KALAKARI is an Australian Indie/soul artist whose music aches with honesty & heart. She began gigging in Australia at 14 and has opened for names like Ocean Alley, Bootleg Rascal, & Nai Palm (from Hiatus Kaiyote).

Blending the warmth of folk, the groove of soul, and the depth of poetic confession, KALAKARI’s songs pull you in; like letters written from the inside of a feeling you thought was yours alone.

And to round out our night - The Blister Sisters continue their NZ Music Month tradition of ukeifying your favourite Kiwi hits.
Come and see which songs could not escape our clutches this time as we subject the most unlikely choices to the ridiculously cheerful tones of the tiny instrument.

Look forward to seeing you there from 7pm, Friday 8th May 2026.

May is New Zealand Music Month.
Live and Local is bringing you a fabulous variety show incorporating acts from all ages within our community.

FRIDAY 8th MAY 2026

Raglan Theatre Academy’s Performance Troupe proudly represents their performing arts school at events across Raglan and beyond. This dedicated group embraces the challenges of live performance, continually expanding their repertoire and growing as confident, versatile performers.

She began gigging in Australia at 14 and has opened for names like Ocean Alley, Bootleg Rascal, & Nai Palm (from Hiatus Kaiyote), whilst deeply honoured, she found that her most meaningful moments in music have not been those pinnacles but in the intimate shows where stories are shared and we can connect in our humanness through music.

In NZ, she travelled the South Island in her van for months, busking her way up to Raglan where she is basing herself for now.

Blending the warmth of folk, the groove of soul, and the depth of poetic confession, KALAKARI’s songs pull you in; like letters written from the inside of a feeling you thought was yours alone.

The Blister Sisters continue their NZ Music Month tradition of ukeifying your favourite Kiwi hits. Come and see which songs could not escape our clutches this time as we subject the most unlikely choices to the ridiculously cheerful tones of the tiny instrument.

Live and Local
Old School Arts Centre, 5 Stewart Street

Jules Hlavac
Hot off the release of his solo debut EP in 2023, “Not Jazz this Time” which infused R&B and pop grooves with a nod to the likes of Stevie Wonder and Elton John, Jules began to refine his solo performance setlist for live background music.

PENNI FEATHER with Stan Jagger
Penni and Stan are back, with a bunch of new songs! Having previously given Live & Local audiences a taste of acoustic blues and Penni's originals, this time they're digging deeper into folk.

Their set will include contemporary folk along with a selection from these songs (audience participation on the choruses will be entirely welcome!).
Penni is known for her heartfelt vocals and soulful interpretations of a range of music. Stan is a stalwart of Hamilton's indie music scene who can be found playing everything from surf guitar to dreampop to Eastern European gypsy music.

Four Blind Mice
The Four Blind Mice are “blinded by our shared love of country & blues music”.
Josh is farmer by day singer by night, living the country dream.
Kieran our harp player, grew up with the blues coming out of his grandad radio.
Asa supplies the rock steady Hawaiian bass lines, while Jasmine is the cornerstone on the drum kit.
