Last week, I was asked to add a nose piercing to this clients left nostril, to match the healed one on his right.

We opted to put capri-blue opal cabochon ends, with labret studs (β€˜flatbacks’), into both his new and existing piercing, for a cohesive aesthetic.

Earlier this year, we celebrated my 4TH YEAR of business! 4yrs of Innersteel reopen~ after the passing of our legendary friend, mentor, & highly skilled piercer ~David van der Camp.

I miss him everyday. But find such confidence in knowing he would be so proud of what we are building. It is such an honour to continue his legacy of offering high quality body piercing, body jewellery and always caring for people. 🀍 That man had a heart of gold that imprinted upon many & continues to inspire me everyday.

Here is a wonderfully dramatic example of a β€˜septum correction’ I did for Yarrah awhile back now.

Septum’s are probably one of the most commonly β€˜incorrectly’ pierced placements.

There is a small area in the nose referred to as the β€˜sweet spot’ where the central nasal cartilage funnels in, leaving a few millimetres of soft tissue between the cartilage.
(It is *not* the gap between the cartilage you feel when pulling down on the bottom of your nose. ~ it is higher and more central to the tip of the nose.)

A skilled piercer will preform an anatomy check, be able to find this spot, and execute a septum piercing that looks πŸ”₯ it also is semi low on the pain scale when pierced through this soft tissue spot & generally heals within 2-3 months.

This is a great example of the comparison between a properly executed septum and one that, well, is not.

& side note - At the end of the day, you feeling good is the most important thing with your piercing.
As long as it was preformed safely, sterile, has healed well, and you love it! Then it doesn’t matter if it’s not *exactly* ^ like this.
However, this is usually the goal with a septum piercing and in professional opinion, looks the best.
