With our house move complete, now comes the enjoyable task of hanging some of my collection after a 16 month hiatus, whilst it sat in storage crates.
From scrolling back through my posts, you'll see that I've always had an interest in old WW2 themed films, particularly those made in the UK during and just after the war.
Also, having numerous family members serve in the armed forces, including myself and having grown up living beside old Battle of Britain airfields in West Sussex. This period of history has always been the forefront of my collection.
Therefore, I thought it was time to put my 1980s daybill's away and devote a wall to the Battle of Britain. Obviously the US 'Aerial Gunner' 10x30 daybill is out of place, however, my intended 'Eagle Squadron' 13x30 frame was a little tight for the space. Although I'm certain my OCD will force me to put it back up shortly!
The two central Battle of Britain combat artworks are by incredible aviation artist Mark Postlethwaite GAvA . Copies of these and many others are available from his site.

1942 First of the Few - The tale of how the legendary Battle of Britain Supermarine Spitfire was created. Star Leslie Howard was killed when the civilian airliner he was travelling in was shot down by the Luftwaffe on 1 June 1943. Only days before the film was released in the United States, under the alternative title of Spitfire.
1952 Angels One Five - "Angels One Five" refers to RAF wartime radio procedure. Angels stands for altitude. One Five means 15,000 feet. The film was the first British post-war production to deal with the Battle of Britain.
1956 Reach for the Sky - A 1956 British biographical film about legendary RAF fighter pilot Douglas Bader, based on the 1954 biography of the same name by Paul Brickhill.
