Winter Pride Announces Hiatus for 2026 Festival
Queenstown, New Zealand | After extensive discussion and careful consideration, the organisers of Winter Pride have made the difficult decision for the festival to take a hiatus in 2026, with plans now firmly focused on delivering a spectacular return in 2027.
As many across the industry will understand, the events sector has faced significant challenges over the past several years. In the current environment, organisers feel it would not be possible to deliver Winter Pride to the standard the festival, its supporters, and the wider community deserve.
As a result, there will be no Winter Pride festival held in 2026.
Despite this pause, the team remains fully committed to the future of Winter Pride and is already looking ahead to 2027, which will mark the festivalβs 24th year.
Winter Pride has always been about community, celebration, and creating unforgettable experiences. While this decision has not been made lightly, we believe taking the time to regroup and refocus will allow us to return stronger than ever in 2027.
The organisation has expressed sincere gratitude to the many volunteers, performers, partners, sponsors, venues, and attendees who have supported Winter Pride throughout its 23-year history.
Winter Pride exists because of the incredible community behind it, and we are deeply thankful for the ongoing support and passion people continue to show the festival.
The team will remain connected with the community over the coming year and will be in direct contact with partners and sponsors regarding future opportunities and collaborations.
For any enquiries, supporters are encouraged to contact the Winter Pride team directly.
