Inspired by the orbital relationship between Earth and Venus as they journey around the Sun, Deep Orbit transforms planetary motion into a mesmerising geometric pattern. Drawing on the hidden mathematics found throughout nature, from spiral galaxies to nautilus shells, the work invites contemplation of time, rhythm and the interconnectedness of the universe.

MICHAEL MOORE >

A small group of old Ti Kouka stand beside a wetland stream near Waimarama Beach in Central Hawke's Bay, captured here by Michael Moore in Ti Kouka by a Stream No IV.

One of New Zealand's most iconic native trees, the Ti Kouka has long fascinated Michael and continues to feature throughout his travels and paintings. Through rich colour and expressive brushwork, he captures not only the landscape itself but the spirit and character of the place.

Two techniques. One extraordinary artist. 💥

Nemo Jantzen’s captivating resin dome works create a striking illusion of depth, while his renowned nail-and-thread portraits transform thousands of individually placed nails and strands of thread into images that appear almost photographic.

Though vastly different in process, both bodies of work showcase Nemo’s remarkable craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail. The closer you look, the more there is to discover.

Now showing at Artbay Gallery, if you would like more information on Nemo’s available works please contact us at [email protected]

Grounded in the unique character of the Southern landscape, these works celebrate both the beauty and fragility of the natural world.

A familiar icon, reimagined.

Tip Top by Geoff Williams transforms an everyday piece of Kiwi culture into a striking contemporary artwork. Known for finding surprise and meaning in the familiar, Williams draws inspiration from the places, objects, and experiences that shape our collective memory.

As Geoff explains, "one of the important functions of an artist is to extract an element of surprise from the everyday." Whether it's a local dairy, petrol station, or an iconic ice cream brand, his work invites viewers to pause and reconnect with the ordinary in unexpected ways.

Rich in colour, nostalgia, and character, Tip Top is both a personal reflection and a shared cultural experience, capturing a moment that feels instantly recognisable to many New Zealanders.

153 x 101cm. Acrylic on Canvas. Available now at Artbay Gallery.
