Mindful Mini's Art Meditation Class Mindful Mini's is a Children's Art Class focusing on nurturing and developing children's innate creativity, using art meditation and mindful practices

My goal is to set up an Art class for children which not only encourages their creativity but does so mindfully. The class will be an Art meditation/ mindfulness class which focuses on giving the children tools that they can use in everyday life, in a fun productive way! Living mindfully benefits us in so many ways, it brings us to the present moment helping us to recognise and understand feelings

and thoughts. This awareness and clarity can increase a sense of calm and well being within ourselves and encourages us to show compassion and empathy to others. In these classes I will incorporate productive meditation and mindfulness activities into each class in a different way. As a self taught artist whose creativity grew hugely due to meditation and yoga practice I will pass on methods that have served me and still do, in these classes. I aim to tie in the creative part of the class with the meditative practice in a playful manner and will make games out of mindfulness exercises. We will use props such as stuffed toys, crystals or even their art piece for breathing exercises. Bring nature into the class and encourage their connection with the world around them by collecting materials from the lake to create natural mandalas and handmade dream catchers. Teach non attachment by creating a piece of art for their pier. Help them identify their feelings and why they feel them by creating art based on that feeling. All in all I hope to help the children learn skills that will benefit them not only now but throughout their lives. I can’t help but wonder what the world would be like if all children grew up practising mindfulness. Hopefully, one day we will see.
