Kia ora Everyone - With Matariki fast approaching - Friday 20th June - we wished to remind everyone that sadly we had to make the extremely difficult decision to cancel this year event in Kā-Muriwai Arrowtown. It was simply not possible to operate a sucessful event on a public holiday with rising costs and compliance constraints. 😔

We wish you all an incredible Matariki celebration and we encourage you to check out the other events on in our wider district or celebrate with your whanau in true Matariki style.

It's hard to believe it's already been a week since our unforgettable Matariki Arrowtown Kā-Muriwai celebration! We’re still buzzing from the wonderful community spirit and magical moments we shared.

Due to technical difficulties in the Hall, we couldn't screen their video during the 2024 Matariki Arrowtown Kā-Muriwai event, but we don't want you to miss out. The tamariki have combined all their Matariki knowledge with a tonne of creativity. We encourage you to watch and celebrate their fantastic mahi!

📸✨ Friday night in Arrowtown (Kā-Muriwai) was buzzing with excitement as over 8000 people joined us for the Matariki Arrowtown Kā-Muriwai festivities.
A huge thank you to our incredible performers, Kathleen Brentwood, Milly B, Freefall, the school kapa haka groups, Gemma Cribb, our amazing weavers, and our community stage acts. Your talent made the night unforgettable!

𝐌𝐚̄𝐧𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚 𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐢!
Today's the day! 🌟 The centre of Arrowtown (Kā-Muriwai) transforms into a celebratory hub for Matariki. Head to Buckingham Green for kapa haka and live performances, or to Library Green for the scenic zone, community stage, and installations. Stop along the way for kai and activities in the warmth of the Hall, Ray White, Museum, and Library.

🚌 Bus Schedule for Route 2 (Arrowtown):
Every 30 minutes from 5:55am to 7:55am, and 3:50pm to 6:55pm, from Arthurs Point and Arrowtown via Stanley St and the Frankton Bus Hub.
Every 60 minutes from 7:55am to 2:55pm, and 6:55pm to 9:55pm, from Arthurs Point and Arrowtown via Stanley St and the Frankton Bus Hub.

For our whānau with mobility needs, note that disabled parking has been relocated to Ramshaw Lane near the toilet blocks. Please look out for the signage!
