Next Saturday, 5 September, Kirsty White, printmaker is returning to Mana Arts to teach her dry point etching class. This class was sold out in February. There are still places available for next Saturday. Here was the review I wrote after her previous workshop in February and two of the bee printed I created.

Dry Point Etching with Kirsty White

Everybody LOVED Kirsty White’s printmaking class. She has an amazing relaxed teaching style, yet we all learnt such a great deal and we all came away with a diverse range of prints. First we selected an image we wanted to etch, then we secured our image to the back of the acetate sheet and using a range of etching tools scratched into the plate. When complete we rubbed on the printing ink and placed our engraved plate with high quality paper under the printing press.

After the class participants asked if we could host Kirsty again. This is your opportunity to give dry point etching a go in a supportive environment.

Arts & Culture section of the 2026 Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards.

We are thrilled to be named the winners of the Arts & Culture section of the 2026 Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards.
A huge thank‑you to whoever nominated us, and to Wellington Airport and Porirua City Council for making these awards possible and for recognising the work of our voluntary community.

It was a real surprise to be nominated and an even bigger one to win our section.

Thank you all and especially to our wonderful Mana Arts Committee.

Our Thursday painting group is producing some amazing work. Special congratulations to one of our regular Thursday artists - Lynn Blann, who has been selected to exhibit her work “I don’t understand” in the 2026 Chianciano Biennale in Italy.
