We provide a wide variety of beautiful, luxury and practical wool, merino, alpaca, silk, possum, linen & cotton yarns, knitting patterns and accessories, crochet tools & notions, Ashford spinning, weaving & felting products all through our online store and displayed beautifully in our large local wool yarn retail shop (LYS) in Kingsland , Auckland. We love the incredible choices of fibres, colours and textures of yarns, both new and traditional, that are exciting and inspiring more and more people to create beautiful fashionable garments and projects, both big and small. We are all about bringing our customers and the carefully selected yarns (from NZ and worldwide) together – so let us assist you with your current knitting, crochet, fibre, spinning, weaving, felting or stitching project or help you explore the possibilities and discover the inspiration for your next creative project, whatever skill or experience you are at or want to achieve.

The knitnstitch Chez Myrtil knit-along is well on its way, and true to form Ashleigh finished Tsutsu in just a few days, so now he has joined our little Mouche family.
His clothes have also been cast off and are currently drying on a blocking board, ready to go out with him into the shop tomorrow. We are just obsessed with their adorable little tails, so cute!

SOCK-tober is almost here! The long standing tradition of knitting a pair of socks each October is the perfect palate-cleanser: a small project to break up the monotony of larger garments or blankets.

Come along to Knitnstitch this Thursday, 1 October, to cast on a new pair of socks - get help from some sock-knitting experts on our staff, and ask advice about the best yarn and needles for the job!

Our cast on party to celebrate the release of Cinthia Vallet’s ‘Chez Myrtil and more seamless friends to knit and love’ will be happening this Saturday the 26th of September from 3:15pm-3:45pm.
If you want some help with what yarn, needles or notions you’d need to knit these fuzzy friends, come along early and join us for this fun start! You can now purchase the book online through the store for pick-up to secure your copy! Please let us know if you (and or your friends) would like to join us for this party so we can ensure that we have enough seating etc.

As we’re sure you have noticed, we are pretty taken with Mouche & Friends by Cinthia Vallet, and so we are very excited for the release of her new book Chez Myrtil this Friday 25th September.

To celebrate the release, some of the staff here at knitnstitch have decided to do a knit along, and we would like to invite you all to join us! Whether you are local or live far away you are welcome to join us in picking one of the adorable friends from Chez Myrtil to knit up. We can help you to find a suitable yarn, needles and any notions you need to bring your little buddy to life. Every week we will post how we are going on our projects too.

We will be having a cast on Party in the shop this Saturday 26th September from 3.15pm - 3.45pm for anyone who would like to join us in this fun (and cute) adventure. Please arrive early if you would like help with yarn, needles or notion selection and purchase, or to purchase the book. You can also pre-purchase the book now through the online store for pick up in store or for delivery to secure your copy. Please let us know if you (and your friends) would like to join us for this little get together so we can ensure we have enough seating etc. We look forward to seeing you there!

Move over Mouche & Friends!

Cinthia Vallet’s new book “Chez Myrtil” is out this Friday (25 September) at Knitnstitch, featuring TWELVE new characters to knit and love.

Pictured here is Merri, the mole, but there’s also Merle the crocodile, Frankie the fox, Jodie the turtle and many more! Here at Knitnstitch we are experts with Cinthia’s toy patterns, so come and pick your pattern and we’ll equip you with the right needles, wool and tools for the job!

The Holst Garn Coast is a light fi*****ng weight / 3ply yarn with a blend of 55% merino lambswool and 45% cotton, making it a perfect summer garment and project which is exactly why it is Ashleigh’s February Staff Pick.

The coast has a great range of of colours and works beautifully for colourwork or lace as well as single colour, or worked with two strands held together. Ashleigh has also crocheted it up as a fi*****ng weight / 4 ply with great success. With 350 meters per 50 gram ball it goes a long way, making it perfect for those bigger projects too.

This lovely summer top is the Rosa Tee (Lady) by Along Avec Anna.
