Elite Dance Company Elite Dance is a home for dancers to take their technique and passion for dance to the next level.

Plimmerton School of Dance is a dance school helping children develop a love of dance. With a range of dance styles available, children benefit in many ways. They increase their concentration and confidence while having fun. With small class sizes, attention can be given to each individual allowing students to achieve their potential. The dancing year follows the Primary School Terms with a full c

oncert at the end of the year. Exams, (which are optional) are held in term three every year from the age five. We offer:

Our MODERN Elite Dance Company Audition dates have changed to accommodate dancers at Dance NZ Made Nationals.

📅 Sunday 13th September – Modern
📅 Sunday 20th September – Hip Hop & Ballet

Our 2027 audition season is your opportunity to be part of something bigger with exciting pathways for dancers wanting to push themselves both here in New Zealand and internationally. 🌎

💫 Soloists will have the opportunity to travel to the USA and experience one of the biggest dance events on the international calendar.

💫 Work with international choreographers and learn from some of the best in the industry 🤐🤫

💫 Train alongside like-minded dancers, challenge yourself and develop your performance, technique and artistry.

💫 Be part of a competitive program designed to create opportunities, not just routines.

New Zealand Modern dancers, this is your time to step onto the world stage.
The New Zealand Dance Society (NZDS) is excited to announce the 2026 qualifying
auditions for the 2027 IDO World Modern/Contemporary Dance Championships AND
the IDO Jazz World Championships 2027.
This is your opportunity to put yourself forward for selection to the FIRST EVER NEW ZEALAND MODERN DANCE TEAM and travel to Europe in 2027 to represent New Zealand at the IDO World Championships.
Skopje , Macedonia is the location to be confirmed by IDO soon.

Imagine representing New Zealand in Europe, competing alongside dancers from around the
world and being part of NZ Dance history.�✨ WHO CAN APPLY?
Modern dancers who will be 12 years or older in 2027 and are New Zealand Citizens are
eligible to enter the 2026 qualifying audition.
There are opportunities for:
• Solo dancers
• Duos
• Trios
• Small groups of 4–7 dancers AND Studio Troupes (Speak to us first for troupes as age
considerations need to be discussed first).
Dancers can even combine with dancers from different schools, with teacher approval.

We are so excited for all our NZ modern dancers.
