Bit of a significant one this Friday.
After 22 years as one of Ink Bar's Friday residents, and the majority of those playing the final set of the night, I'm stepping aside.
This has been one hell of a musical journey.
But for now I want to enjoy life on the other side of the decks and experience something along the lines of a proper weekend.
The truth being I first started playing Friday nights way back in 1990 at the Worcester Bar in Chch.
This isn't in anyway a hint of retirement.
I'll still be playing Ink Saturday's at the likes of Black Wax, The Dose, Lucid Underground, and hopefully a repeat 6 hour Ink1000 part2 later this year.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who's come to dance and help create the magic that exists on that dance floor. Very few in my opinion have ever matched it.
There have been so many nights that I've come home and scored the night a 6/5 and wondered whether I should just call it quits right there and then.
Finally, a huge thank you to owners Andy Mack and Gibby Mack for forever supporting and believing in me.
I have so much love for you both.
I've never once had to look over my shoulder, nor been challenged for what I played at Ink.
I can only remember one time when Andy told me I was playing a s**t tune......though one time Andy did insist on me playing a Bad Brains track mid set during the vinyl days.😂
Anyway, hopefully see a few of you this Friday.
Here's to the next chapter!
