Sun coming up after working all night.
We’d been moving hives non-stop through the dark, and right as we started unloading the last ones, the sky turned this beautiful orange. Bees humming, farm quiet, everything felt peaceful.
This is what pollination work looks like for us. We take the hives where the kiwifruit flowers need them most. Without these bees (and nights like this moving them), a lot of the fruit we all eat just wouldn’t grow. It’s tough sometimes, but it matters. 🐝🥝
The best part? Doing it with family. Laughing, helping each other, watching the sunrise together after a long night. There’s nothing better than working side by side with the people you love on something you really care about.
Grateful for the bees, grateful for the work, and especially grateful for my family crew. Here’s to more big nights, more sunrises, and more days we love doing.

In return for hosting our calm, well-managed hives, you'll get:

Eleven years ago, I started pursuing my dream of having my own business together with my great friend Doug. It's been a rocky road full of ups and downs, but I never doubted for a second that it was the right path. Alfa Bees changed from a partnership to a solo business when my friend decided to retire a few years ago, and in the last couple of years, my dream of being my own boss was somewhat put on hold due to the incorporation of my lovely wife into the business 🤪🤪🤪.
We are enjoying what we do and feel blessed to be able to do it in this incredible place.
We would like to express our gratitude to all of you who helped us by giving us a place to put our bees, to all of our customers throughout the years, to the supermarkets that gave us the chance to work with them, and to our amazing pollination customers in the Bay of Plenty. You are the ones who make our dream possible 🥰.
Today, we celebrate our success and hope that the future will be even brighter for all of us.
