Youth Theatre Hawkins Youth Theatre Company Returns for Term Four!
Following the excitement of Shrek The Musical, Youth Theatre returns today for Term Four, with regular classes resuming after a busy and rewarding show season.
We are incredibly proud of our young people and everything they achieved this year, both on stage and behind the scenes.
The journey to opening night brought its share of challenges, but our creative team, cast and crew showed tremendous commitment, resilience and teamwork to bring the production to life. The result was a show that was hilarious, moving, thought-provoking and full of character.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Youth Theatre over the years, particularly since Covid, has been seeing the relationships, confidence and skills that develop through each production and from year to year.
Alongside the growth in performance skills and talent, we continue to see older students take on leadership roles, supporting and encouraging younger cast members as they develop. These moments of kindness, collaboration and leadership are an important part of what makes Youth Theatre so special.
A special thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s production.
To former students Amy and Lucy, who stepped into leadership roles supporting vocal tuition and cast coordination; McKenzie and Lisa, who took on the roles of choreographer and director; and Richard, Zara and Sam for their sound support.
Thank you to Paul Richardson, who consistently goes above and beyond, and to Zach for his tireless work in helping the production continue to grow and improve throughout the season.
We also extend our thanks to LA, Sarah, Brooke, Colby, Carolyn, Kelly, Rio, Nico our wider crew and all the parents who contributed their time and support to make the show possible - especially Andrew, maker of Dragon, and Cohen's dad, maker of Faarquad's head!
Finally, thank you to everyone who came along to see Shrek The Musical and shared such positive feedback with us. Your support means a great deal to our young performers and the entire team.
As we head into Term Four, we look forward to another term of creativity, learning and connection at Hawkins Theatre.
