Tukutuku!!!! I have totally fell in love with weaving this panel. Also doing it with hiekie amd pingao. Its rarely maybe the only time i would weave this in the traditional way. So I wanted to treat it with respect, put abit of contemporary in it. So already had an idea of what I wanted and how I saw it. Had a karakia, and watched it come to life with not only with my own hands, I needed help to fulfill the vision I had for it. Blessed to have gotten an inside peek at mahi being done at my cousins place. Where i knew my frame will become a reality. Cost wasnt an option to bail 😅. He heard me and i got what I asked and more. Im grateful and very blessed. Thank you bro!!!! 💪💯🔥 . Process in the making from start to finish......lets collaborate my bro!!! Pm if interested in frames. Prices varies. KIA ORA!!!

This is a whole other level.. I absolutely love it 😍🥰♥️. I have found something that fulfills me ❤️💯. Its given me space, time and purpose. A purpose to take me places somewhere God will sit me, give me a a space to dwell. Give me connection where time will go on slow mode. Where the rushing just stops........
Very blessed to see the talent in this space. For now its to fulfill an assessment and seek out where God will take this talent. Rangahau and learn as much as I can. Im ready Papa!!! Im all in 🙌🏽💯. Not finished but this beauty will be treated with the respect it deserves.

It been sometime I finished her a couple weeks ago. And has been wrapped up. My 1st Tarapouāhi/Rāpaki done. Handed in visual. Now waiting for my results. This journey into raranga has its moments. Has not yet got a name. I am so proud of her. And very honoured to be able to work with such a plant which just keeps giving.
Hanging her her up on my wall ❤️. Haven't started anything else yet. But im in total awe of her.

Has been a process, the prepping is time consuming however the end results are so worth every minute. I get frustrated, lazy, sore and yet i find a space to love what this amazing plant we call harakeke come from my mind. I shocked myself and have a creative side i dodnt know i had 🤭😉💕. Tarapauāhi the way it comes together. And the story that comes with it. Im in awe!!!!

There are always lessons to this journey. I am grateful for the harvest, and finding out she moved from the source I told her and it wasnt muka. I should have been there to make sure. I gave her karakia, sent pictures of how to harvest, and she saw another patch. With an understanding it would be the same. Lesson for me to give a full picture not half, her harvest will be used for weaving so won't be maumau. Still have a cough and asthma is playing up so asked my husband to get me another harvest. So will be stopping and gettimg my mahi on for noho. I have found a space in making tags and im enjoying the whatu with bring my Tarapauāhi together. Once I get it done i am ready. Thank you my ❤️. Im grateful. Been getting itchy feet to get started on my tauira and my assignment. Excited!!! My practice one to start my whatu. Now get cotton lol. This journey has by far been a humbling one.

Done these and they still changing colour. Getting there!!! Now fully sick and been hanging out for another harvest to make more of these beauties. Tikanga is no harvesting while mauiui, so got my sister in law (MahG) to hook me up. Goal is 400 double tags. This will be my mission tonight. Double back, miro and depend what time im done may do boiling when I wake up in the morning.

Got some handles on this beauty. Shes ready and waiting to be picked up. 2 weeks in to my 2nd year of studies. Not gonna lie cutting corners or trying to find faster ways is not a thing with working with this plant. Im learning and its not easy lol. However do it properly and stop being lazy 😉. Re centre myself and get this done. Cant wait to see you Caro. This has been a pleasure to do. Leeeeesssssgggggooooo!!!!!

Reveal time!!!

1st time doing tuarua weaving, got some ingenuity thinking in there. Good thing to have your visual. However my 1st kinda whakairo in there. Another proud moment.

Getting back into what I love. Illness and procrastination & mentality stopped me from finishing off my weaving. Went through a time of not touching it. I started this kete last year back in November. Found my groove again. Found my ara, whenu size .6, that and under that size is fiddly so it challenges me. Undone my bottom, and sorted it out before I went to bed last night. Or should I say this morning. Wasn't gonna let it beat me. Now to lock off my bottom. I haven't forgotten you Caro. Will get in touch when im done.
