KŌ WAI AU? - Who am I?

As we all know, there’s always a journey when it comes to finding who we are The pressure of the outside world… social media… expectations… trying to fit into spaces that don’t always feel like us.

This kaupapa is about rising above that
Standing grounded and Owning who you are with Mana!

This is what we instil into our tamariki right through to our kaiako here at Hush you will see that come through in every performance on stage

Like always, we don’t come to play… we come to level up and bring something powerful to our people here in Te Norta

From our dancers to our local support
Rambos Catering bringing the kai to the whole experience we’re creating
A night for everyone to leave inspired and cups filled!

We invite our whānau, our community, our people… come and be part of something special

We have our midyear showcase our classes will be working towards and also our selected crew members will be competing in Auckland September so yes another busy term for HUSH!

Hush Tipuranga (Open Class)
5:00 – 6:15pm

✨ Class Name Update – Hush Dance Studio ✨

As we move into this new season, we’ve updated the names of our classes to better reflect the growth, stages, and kaupapa of our dancers 🤍

Here are our updated class names:

🌱 Hush Kākano – ages 4–7
👣 Hush Tipuranga – ages 8–11
🔥 Hush Rangatahi – ages 12–17
👑 Hush Hinerau – Mamaz

Just names that align more deeply with who our dancers are becoming

This year, our dancers will also be working toward a short film project, created in collaboration with Hanelle Harris and Maiyah a beautiful opportunity for our dancers to experience storytelling through movement, film, and expression ✨

If you’ve voted in the story poll, I’ll be adding you into the relevant class group chat shortly with all the info and enrolment details.

So excited for what this year holds for our tamariki, rangatahi, and wāhine 🤍

Te Hauora o Ngapuhi for a space to teach classes
FNDC, the Kaikohe Memorial Hall — we are grateful to have been able to hire this historic space where my tupuna opened the doors Although there were a few challenges along the way, we appreciate being able to bring our tamariki and whānau together under its roof to celebrate their hard mahi

‘you can tell a Hush dancer anywhere because of their confidence they carry’ is by far the best compliment for 2025
We will always be a space where our tangata feel safe, seen and unstoppable
