Potting on the Parkie’s Path is a solo exhibition tracing Mike Regan’s creative journey after his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2021. Featuring new work, select pre-diagnosis pieces, and collaborative projects, the show reflects resilience, humour, and a lifelong love of clay.

Proceeds support Parkinson’s local community activities and awareness.

Transform your drawing practice this year ✏️ no critics, no pressure, just time and space to observe and respond.

Untutored Life Drawing runs over 5 consecutive Saturdays from August 29th - September 26th.

$100 for all five weeks. Easels provided, bring your own materials. 18+, or 16 with parental permission.

Bookings close Monday 24 August as we need to confirm a minimum attendance of 8 people.

Still buzzing from Friday. Studio Artists '26 pulled a crowd, the gallery looked incredible, and the work is up until the 29th if you want a proper look without a w**e in your hand.

Two to book this week. Life Drawing kicks off Saturday the 29th, five weeks of it, but tickets shut on the 24th so don't sit on it. And Beginners Ceramic Glazing lands Tuesday the 25th, 5.30 til 7.30, ten spots.

The Clayground's had a rework: ages 8 to 14 now, and you can drop in for a single Tuesday instead of committing to the whole term. $30, turn up, get messy.

Painting most days, Casual Clay Tuesday through Thursday, and the Six Week Wheel Course hits week two. Email [email protected] if you want first dibs on any spots that free up.

On Friday night, our talented studio artists came together to present their highly anticipated group exhibition in the Yvonne Rust Gallery until August 29th. This incredible showcase is a testament to the creativity and diversity of our community art centre, and we're thrilled to share it within the heart of Whangārei. Each artist is celebrated for their unique style, technique, and perspective, and the curation of this exhibition shows the public what the quarry is all about - a vibrant, dynamic, and innovative space where artistry thrives.

Studio Artists ’26 opens tonight, 5–7pm in the Yvonne Rust Gallery. Our studio artists, all under one roof, showing until 29 August. There’ll be drinks and kai and insightful kōrero

Funk ‘n’ Coffee tomorrow morning at Amber’s Kitchen, 10.30–1.30. DJ and coffees, exactly as it sounds 🎶

What a treat! Artist Madison Carroll’s first ever Ceramic Florals workshop was a huge success following her stunning Garden exhibition right here in the Yvonne Rust Gallery. These whimsical class creations speak for themselves even pre-fire or glaze.

“I was so happy with how ambitious and focused everyone was, the energy in the studio was buzzing and you could see that in the work made. People were getting inspiration from each other which I loved and I got new ideas from watching others work!” -

We can’t wait to see what’s next from Carroll and those who attended her workshop over the weekend.

Doors open, kilns on, coffee brewing. Another week at the Quarry Arts Centre…

Studio Artists ‘26 opens this Friday 14th. It’s rare to see so many artists step away from the safety of their studios and come outside; but come Friday night between 5–7pm they’ll be there, all under the Yvonne Rust Gallery Roof, showcasing some stunning work.

The growing festive fever of Funk ‘n’ Coffee is back Saturday morning at Amber’s Kitchen, 10.30–1.30. Bring your dancing shoes, Amber’s sussed the best of the rest.

Plus painting classes running through the week, Casual Clay open Tue–Thu, and The Clayground now takes after-school drop-ins for $30.
