🏆 We have our 2026 Opunake Cup naming rights sponsor!

At our recent Platinum Homes Apprentice Raceday, all eight sponsors of Opunake Cup Day went into the draw to win the major naming rights sponsorship of the feature race.

The winning number was revealed by turning the Opunake Cup trophies to match the lucky number of the major race — and congratulations go to AgFirst Engineering, who came away with the win! 🎉

We are proud to present the 2026 Ag First Engineering Opunake Cup, taking place on Saturday 18 July.

Despite today’s outcome, our apprentices still enjoyed a fantastic day on course at New Zealand’s only Apprentice-Only Raceday sponsored by Platinum Homes Taranaki🏇

Congratulations to Jack Taplin, who took out the Leading Apprentice of the Day Challenge and the $1,000 cash prize donated by Taranaki Racing Inc.

A big congratulations also to Tom Wigram and Triston Moodley, who finished equal second in the challenge.

Well done to all our apprentice riders for their efforts and professionalism throughout the day
